Which are your expectations?

Work with the following questions in small groups:
1. What do you think you'll have to learn in order to become an effective young learners' teacher?

2. What new aspects do you think you'll have to explore in while working with young learners?

Now share your conclusions and post some comments.

  1. Hi! We are Nicolás and Luján. After discussing about the questions, we think we have to learn to be dynamic, to be aware of our students’ learning process and to take advantage of time. Besides, we also need lots of information about methodologies and classroom management.
As regards new aspects to be explored, we think will have to look into the best way to take advantage of our creativity and imagination in order to make ourselves resourceful teachers. Finally, we also believe that it is completely necessary to examine the characteristics of each particular age-group and how to manage them.

  2. Hi! After discussing the first question, we think we have to learn how to be resourceful and creative, how to use different methods, how to keep children motivated and to know about children`s psychology profile.
As regards the second question, we think we will create our own booklet (containing material from different books, texts), incorporate new technology, work together with the different subjects within the institution and incorporate videos, films, games and songs.

  4. Hi there! In relation to the first question, we thought of learning how to be didactic in class, with the help of different techniques and strategies (like games and creative activities) in order to keep children active and to catch their attention.
Regarding new aspects to explore, we thought it would be necessary to have a lot of patience with children. Besides, we should explore something related to children psychology and classroom management, maybe learning how to be flexible but in an orderly way.
    That's our answer!

  5. Hi there! In our opinion, one of the things we'll have to learn in order to become effective YLE's teachers will be how to make use of resources in order to teach classes dynamically. We also think we will have to learn how to manage a group of small children and be creative so as to engage students during the whole class and catch their interest.
Regarding the second question, the new aspects we will have to explore will have to do with handicrafts, that is, we'll need to polish that aspect of ours so as to make the lessons more vivid.

  6. 1) I think that I need to learn certain techniques and creative ideas to present the material in other ways than the conventional ones, to become an effective YL’s Teacher. That will make de class more interesting instead of a boring and dense one.

    2) I think that I have to explore those aspects that are concerned to attitudes from both sides: teacher-student, what things I´m giving to them and how they react to the activities; as time required for young learners is more than adults, I must learn to be patient while working with young learners.

  7. hello, we are Agustin, Marcos and sabrina :)
    1) In order to become an effective YL teacher, we think it's important to learn and keep updated with technological devices, to be dynamic and motivate our students constantly and to make a good use of our creativity and imagination. That's why we also need to learn different ways to apprach teaching, such as artistic ones (drawing, painting, performing, acting, etc)
    2) we thing we have to explore more about children's psychological aspects, as well as several methodological ones. We must know about their interests and likes, according to their age, so as to catch their attention. Finally, we also need to know how to use our time properly, in order to take advantage of the every minute.

  8. 1- We think that to become an effective YLE's teacher we have to learn different educational technics and methodologies, strategies about how to handle a group, how to organize classes in order to make them interesting and enjoyable, and also learn the best ways of motivating children.
2- We think that the new aspects that we'll have to explore while working with YLE are related to new and entertaining materials and resources as well as the behaviour and phycological aspects of YLE.
